The collar is made up of 2 X 4's painted with several coats of polyurethane. The external trim is made from 1 X 8 cedar. I picked up the drip tray on eBay.
It doesn't really show in the photo but the top of the 2 X 4 collar is tapered to match the freezer door gasket surface which helps the door gaskets obtain a better seal. I still have to mop up condensation in the freezer every week or so.
The freezer will hold up to six five gallon corny kegs, four for serving and two in cold storage. There is also room for bottled beer and hops. The temperature is controlled using a Johnson Controls external thermostat.
