The filtration system is located in my garage, adjacent to the storage tank, to protect it from freezing. Water is fed from the pump to a three-section filter bank consisting of one 30 micron sediment filter, one dual gradient 20 micron/1 micron filter, and one 25 micron radial flow carbon filter. All filters are 4.5” diameter, 20” filters. Pressure gauges on the inlet and outlet of the filters are used to indicate relative filter condition. The UV unit is a Sterilight S12QP-A.
The ball valve and check valve on the bottom left bring water from my well onto the panel. Rainwater enters via the ball valve and check valve on the right. The selector valve in the center allows me to feed the house from either source.
I plan to build a storage cabinet for spare filters and other items in the unused space on the left end of the filter panel.
